Get to know Insider Mason Brodie

Hello, my name is Mason Brodie, and I am an insider for Gilroy Media.

I graduated from Clinton High School, where I played football for three years. During all three years, I earned a varsity letter and was a starter for two of them. I also competed in shot put and discus, which were my main events in high school. Throughout my high school career, I became a four-time state qualifier in both events and a six-time All-State thrower.

Currently, I am in my second year at Eastern Michigan University, studying secondary education in the History and Philosophy Department. I also compete on Eastern Michigan's track and field team, where I throw shot put.

My involvement with Gilroy Media was unexpected. I knew my boss, John Gilroy, was starting Gilroy Media because he had talked about doing so since we became friends during my sophomore year of high school. As Gilroy Media continued to grow, John asked for help, and I agreed immediately.

Not only do I enjoy sports, but I also enjoy working with Gilroy Media because it allows me to keep a closer eye on details that could be crucial to our articles. I especially enjoy attending close games and making predictions for big matchups across every division.

I'm excited to be part of Gilroy Media and look forward to continuing to cover the sports and teams that make our local communities special.
