On Friday, (10/16) the Saline Hornets traveled to Temperance Bedford to play the Kicking Mules. It was a great game on both sides of the ball for both teams. As the clock hit zeroes it was the Hornets that were standing victorious. There were a lot of errors for Bedford on both sides of the ball in the first quarter. Saline was up seven at the end of the first quarter. Then at the start of the 2nd quarter Saline then scored again to go up fourteen. Bedford responded by scoring with only a few minutes left in the half. Bedford came out of halftime on fire as they scored with only a few plays to tie the game at fourteen.Saline then responded really well and scored fourteen points in the 3rd quarter to end the 3rd quarter with Saline having twenty-eight points and Bedford having fourteen. The 4th quarter was very even with both teams scoring seven more points each to have the final score of 35-21. Bedford has a really good team with a star quarterback  Luke Whetstone. He was doing everything he could by proving he is one of the best players in the state of Michigan. He could throw and especially run. His run game is what carried them to success throughout the whole gameSaline has a big, strong, fast and very physical team and it wouldn’t surprise me if they make a huge run in the playoffs if not to the finals this year. They’re offense was carried by their quarterback Case Campbell and Carson Cherry. Campbell could throw the ball really well and escape from pressure which shows that he is college football ready even as a sophomore in high school. Cherry’s elusiveness and game breaking speed helped him have 222 yards on the ground, the Hornets offense to much success. Saline’s defense is incredible. The defense is carried by Bryce Barbarino and Caleb Harris. With Barbarino’s incredible IQ, he makes a lot of plays for the Hornets with a total of 15 tackles during the game. Harris’s speed is unmatched for a middle linebacker and he had 4 pressures alone on the quarterback as well as 14 tackles.
